Departament of the Relation Between Science and Faith
- The research is concentrated on the analysis of the mutual relationship between natural sciences and religious faith in these aspects that are cognitively important for philosophy of science, philosophy of religion and philosophy of God.
- Particular emphasis is put on the problems of connections between cultural conditionality and the rational content of a given theory, relatively independent from its cultural context.
- The attention is also drawn to the interpretations concerning biological and cosmological theory of evolution, above all sociobiology and antropic principles.
- The question of creation is explored in physics and theology as well as the evolution of the rationality's notion that accompanies methodological development of the natural sciences.
- Theistic interpretation of evolutionism is analyzed in cooperation with The Center of Theology and the Natural Sciences (Berkeley, California), with the particular attention to the problem of so called design argument
- Waiving the classic anthropomorphisms of W. Paley's argumentation as well as new proposals of the creationistic fundamentalism we seek the critical modifications of above mentioned argument taking into consideration the standards of modern methodology.
