ARE SOMEONE'S "WAYS OF LIFE" WORTH RESEARCHING? HOW SHOULD WE INVESTIGATE THEM WITHOUT REACHING THE LIMIT OF OURS?


Abstract. In the article I consider the problem of investigating "ways of life" as seen
from three different perspectives: biological, biographical and "objective". These were
proposed by Ch. Buchler in 1933. I estimate their usefulness from the point of view of
the methodological possibilities of contemporary psychology. The result is that I formu-
late recommendations concerning a model biographical research on human life and its
course.
