ATTRIBUTIVE DETERMINANTS OF WILLINGNESS TO PREVENT DANGER

The most important questions in this paper refer to the connection between attribution and the willingness to prevent danger. According to Weiner's model three attributive dimensions were distinguished: locus of control, stability, and controllability. Three types of preemptive action were distinguished. The results show that there are correlations between attributive patterns and willingness to prevent. (1) The willingness to acquire knowledge is linked to the stable pole of the attributive dimension of stability. (2) The willingness to pay for risk reduction is connected with the internal attributions. (3) The number of preemptive activities is linked to the pole controlled of the dimension of controllability.
