Cecil’s 4, Fourth Central European Conference for Postgraduate Students, will be held in Lublin, Poland on 21-22 August 2014. The conference is organized by the Institute of English of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and the Institute of East-Central Europe. The IECE building at 5 Niecała Street is the venue of the event. Conference participants come from various countries of the world, the Visegrad Group countries in particular. The plenary speakers are renowned linguists: Ángel L. Jiménez-Fernández, University of Seville, Spain and Markus A. Pöchtrager, Boğaziçi University, Turkey. The conference programme includes 50 oral presentations on various issues of theoretical and applied linguistics. The aim of the conference is to bring together young linguists and postgraduate students of linguistics and give them the opportunity to present their research results, exchange ideas and foster international cooperation. Conference participants will also enhance their practical skills during a workshop on the application of digital corpora in linguistic research. They will also become acquainted with the multicultural heritage and history of Lublin during a walking tour.
