CRIME PERPETRATORS IN POLAND: AN ATTEMPT A NEW TYPOLOGICAL ANALYSIS WITH THE USE OF FACET THEORY

In the presented research we have analysed 137 cases of homicides committed in Poland between 1975 and 1995. We have selected 46 variables describing offenders’ background including their main motivation and crime scene characteristics. We have used the Facet Theory and identified three different types of homicides: emotional-delusional, sexual, and economical. Each group has specific kind of unique features of offenders’ behaviour and their socio-psychological characteristics.
