STUDY VISIT TO

THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS

AND INSTITUTIONS OF THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE

Laureates of the Jubilee Competition titled 25 years of the Republic of Poland in the system of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms: Mr Hubert Górka, Ms Julita Kowalska  and Ms Dominika Kuźma, with the don Jur Doc Robert Tabaszewski, Ph.D., LL.M. on On 23-27 April they had a study visit to the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland in Strasbourg. The visit plan included participation in the proceedings before the ECtHR (case M.N. and others versus Belgium), meetings with employees of the Court's Office, the Department of Execution of Judgments, the CPT Committee, the Committee for the Turin Process of Social Charter, the Parliamentary Assembly and the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The participants of the visit thank for special hospitality and meetings with the Ambassador His Excellency Janusz Stańczyk.

LECTURES WITH PROFESSOR AIKATERINI TSAMPI

 

The Chair of Human Rights invites  to lectures, workshops and seminars realized by Professor Aikaterini Tsampi, Professor of International Public Law, from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Professor Tsampi will give an open lecture on Thursday, 4 April "The principle of the division of powers in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights".

 

Dr. Aikaterini Tsampi is Assistant Professor of International Law at the University of Groningen. She was awarded, in 2017, a PhD in Human Rights from the University of Strasbourg, France. Her monograph "Le principe de séparation des pouvoirs dans la jurisprudence de la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme" was published by Pedone, Paris, 2019, Série Fondation Maragkopoulos pour les droits de l’homme, avant-propos: Vice-president of the European Court of Human Rights, Prof. L.-A. Sicilianos & préface: Prof. Patrick Wachsmann. She completed LLM studies in Human Rights, IHL and Public Law at the Universities of Paris II/Panthéon Assas, Bordeaux IV and Athens. From 2013 until 2017, she was employed as Legal Officer at the Greek National Commission for Human Rights, publishing multiple reports/studies pertaining to human rights and collaborating with international organizations and national human rights stakeholders. As an independent researcher, she has been involved in several human rights projects and activities (e.g. United Nations Human Rights Committee). She is a trainer qualified through the Council of Europ HELP program and a qualified lawyer in Greece. She has received several scholarships (Ile-de-France, Paris, “Bourse d’excellence”, CFF Greece).
