DIALOGICAL PHENOMENA – FROM SOCIAL INFLUENCE TO INTERNAL ACTIVITY

The article presents six features of dialogical activity: (1) sequential activity, (2) changing dominance, (3) dynamic interaction (4) leading to a new quality integrating different points of view, (5) mutual proximity of the partners, and (6) their motivation to communicate. The author discusses similarities between social dialogues and inner dialogical activity, posing questions concerning advantages and shortcomings of such an analogy for psychological theory and researches. The article presents also information about sources of H. Hermans’ theory of the dialogical self and about current status of the researches; and introduces shortly contents of this special volume.
