THE JOHN PAUL II CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF LUBLIN (KUL)

 

 

 

The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin,  founded in 1918, is one of the oldest and most renowned universities in Eastern Europe and is the only one possessing full state and Church rights in Poland. It is also the first Catholic university in Central and Eastern Europe. The university has a reputation for high standards of education and research, the profile of which is determined by humanistic tradition of the university as well as openness to the needs of a contemporary man.

The University has six faculties organized into institutes and departments with over forty degree programmes: Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Health. There is a branch of KUL located in Stalowa Wola.

The graduates and the faculty of KUL hold many important positions in social, cultural, ecclesiastical and political life. Among them was the Pope John Paul II, who had held the Chair of Ethics in KUL’s Faculty of Philosophy for many years.

  • Orientation Days helping students to become acquainted with our university
  • integration activities (trips, cultural and social events)
  • Guardian Angels (buddy students) assigned to each Erasmus+ student
  • assistance in finding Accommodation

  • academic support - to organize and facilitate the running of the Erasmus+ programme, KUL designated an Erasmus+ Coordinator in every field of study. The list of Erasmus+ Degree Programme Coordinators (with e-mail addresses) is available at www.kul.pl/Erasmus.eng In case you have questions concerning courses, your study programme at KUL or your Learning Agreement, please contact the Coordinator in a particular degree programme directly.
  • practical support - every Erasmus+ student has their personal Guardian Angel – a KUL student (usually ex-Erasmus) who is assigned to help them solve any practical problems before arrival and during their stay in Lublin. Guardian Angels also help Erasmus+ students to integrate into the new environment.

LUBLIN - CITY OF INSPIRATION

 

 

 

Lublin has always been one of Poland’s most important cities. Due to its geographical location and history, Lublin has often played the role of a bridge between East and West.

Today Lublin is the largest and most important industrial, commercial and educational centre in eastern Poland. It is no exaggeration to call Lublin a city of universities. At present, Lublin has 4 universities and a few colleges with the total of approximately 60,000 students, while the population of Lublin is approximately 340,000. If one adds the rich and thriving cultural life that imparts a unique artistic flavour to the atmosphere of Lublin, our city appears to be an ideal place in which to spend part of your colourful student life.
