KUL's teaching and research activities are carried out in nine faculties:

  • Law, Canon Law and Administration
  • Philosophy
  • Humanities
  • Social Sciences
  • Mathematics and Natural Sciences
  • Collegium of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in the Humanities
  • Off-Campus Faculty of Legal and Economic Sciences in Tomaszów Lubelski
  • Off-Campus Faculty of Social Sciences in Stalowa Wola
  • Off-Campus Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences in Stalowa Wola
  • as well as in various inter-faculty institutes and specialized research units.

Most of the academic disciplines have already gained a Certificate of the Quality of Education, i.e. the accreditation of the University Accreditation Commission and redesigned their study programmes in line with European Credit Transfer System.

At present, KUL enrolls over 17,400 students (including 250 foreign students) in its various programmes. The University is open to all Poles, from Poland and abroad, as well as to international students - ERASMUS, CEEPUS and many others.

The regular language of instruction is Polish (except for philological and linguistic institutes, where courses are taught in respective target languages and course in Philosophy taught in English). However, KUL offers a series of lectures delivered in English (the list of lectures is available at: www.kul.pl/courses). Moreover, there is a possibility of attending individual tutorials (by prior arrangement with a professor) offered in a foreign language.

 

Academic calendar:

The academic year begins 1 October and finishes 30 September the next calendar year. The academic year consists of two (2) semesters: winter and spring, each of which continues for 15 weeks. During the academic year there is one break for the Christmas and New Year Holidays in the winter semester and one week break at Easter in the spring semester.
