Marcin Szewczak, Hab. PhD, Chair of the Department of European Union Law, Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin, Poland. Graduate of law (John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, 2003), international relations (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, 2005), Master Course in European Studies and Global Affairs at the  Catholic University of Saint Heart in Milan/Peter Pazmany Catholic University in Budapest (2004)- thesis "Lisbon strategy -competitiveness of the EU and Poland".Reviewers: Prof. Tomasz Dołęgowski (Warsaw School of Economics) and Prof. Simona Beretta (University Saint Heart in Milan).


PhD thesis: Administration-law aspects of the realization Common Agricultural Policy in Poland, Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin (26 June 2007).

Fields of interest:

  • legal aspects of the regional development of the EU (special: cross-border and transnational cooperation),
  • legal aspects of the common agricultural policy (special: local action groups  and legal aspects of bioeconomy),
  • development of the public administration and European Administrative Space in the  Western Balkans and the Central Europe.


Visiting  professor of the  Peter Pazmany Catholic University in Budapest (2006,2007) and  the University in Ljubljana (2007,2008, 2011, 2012, 2013). Graduated course of the Hungarian language in the Katedra Nyelviskola in Budapest. Main international conferences: Lviv and Kharkiv (Ukraine), Kosice (Slovakia), Novo Mesto (Slovenia). Lecture on Faculty of Administration Summer School/Erasmus Intensive Programme 2013: "Challenges in Public Administration in the European Union" (University Ljubljana).

Member of the Regional Operational Programme Monitoring Committee for Lubelskie Voivodeship 2007-2013. In the period 2007-2010 Director of the Department of the Coordination of the European Projects at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. In the period 2008-2012 vicepresident of the council  of the Local Action Group “Krasnystaw Plus”. Member of supervisory boards of the companies of the Ministry of Treasury in Poland.


In the period 2007-2010 coordinator of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University in the Science Festival of Lublin. Author of the 9 lectures on this festival editions. In the period 2010-2011 experts of the research and innovations in the university project financing from the European Funds, Human Capital. Since 2013, coordinator of the group  Sciences Projects Incubator on Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration KUL. Author of the few expertise preparing for the Management Board of the Lubelskie Region. Coordinator of international relations in Institute of Administration KUL.
