Philosophy in English! Study

at the Faculty of Philosophy of The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin

The Faculty of Philosophy conducts a full range of studies in Philosophy in English. We conduct a Bachelor’s Degree course as well as Master’s Degree course. Both courses culminate, respectively, in a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in philosophy in the student’s field of specialization. Students who have earned the Master’s Degree may continue doctoral studies in Philosophy in English.

All graduates, irrespective of their fields of specialization, receive comprehensive preparation in the fields of metaphysics, anthropology, ethics, history of philosophy, logic, scientific methodology, and philosophy of nature and the natural sciences. This broad education is valued and respected both inside and outside of Poland.

While studying Cognitive Science, the student will benefit from an extensive experience in the fields of psychology, biology, philosophy, neurosciences and IT. At the same time, he or she will gain skills and competencies needed to understand cognitive processes, apply memorization techniques, comprehend and accelerate a foreign language acquisition, and – eventually – analyze and integrate data from various sciences and scientific disciplines.

Karol Wojtyła, known as Pope St John Paul II, was a professor of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Catholic University of Lublin for more than twenty years. He started his work at the Faculty in 1954 with lectures on ethics. In 1956, he was already head of the Department of Ethics, and subsequently head of the Chair of Ethics. He chaired the Department until his election to the Holy See. With his extraordinary ability as a professor, he combined teaching and scientific work with his pastoral ministry. He is among the professors who have left an indelible trace in the memory of their students.
