Teaching is one of the main objectives of the Church. Both, the canons of the Code of Canon Law Pope John Paul II and the regulations contained in the Concordat of 1993 emphasize the goal of catechesis which is, action to strenghten the faith of God's people.

Development of young people in the spirit of Christian doctrine together with respect for universal principles of ethics must be carried out by the people, who are suitably prepared for this task. Selection of candidates for the post of religion's teacher should be very careful. The person applying for the position of catechist must have a special authorization, so-called missio canonica. This authorization is granted by the diocesan bishop. Missio canonica can be reversed.
