Scope of competence:
1. formation and development of scientific staff;
2. designing the policy of University development with respect to scientific research;
3. responsibility for the scientific staff necessary to conduct the studies and to award scientific degrees;
4. presentation to the Senate of motions concerning the creation or closing down of particular specialisations;
5. supervision over the University activity within the scope of post-graduate studies and specialised trainings;
6. supervision over the implementation and realisation of other forms of supporting education;
7. coordination of the University co-operation with foreign scientific centres;
8. formation of co-operation with centres supporting the University, in particular with circles of the Friends of KUL Society and with the Scientific Society of KUL.
