Vice-Rector for Administration and Finances - Rev. Prof. Stanisław Zięba

Born on 10th August 1939; a priest of Archdiocese of Wrocław. In his research work, he focuses on the issue of the nature and organisation of life, on defining both the relation between a human being and nature in various aspects and the epistemological and methodological status of humanistic ecology.
In years 1987-1992 he was Head of the Department of Animated Nature Philosophy, since 1989 Head of the Philosophy of Nature Department and in years 1998-2008 the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at KUL.
He initiated the creation of new specialisations at KUL: environmental protection (1992), mathematics with the IT specialisation (1996), landscape architecture (1999) and IT studies (2003). These specialisations constituted the base for the establishment of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in 1998.
He is a member of numerous scientific bodies: the Scientific Society of KUL, Society of Biophysics at UMCS, Polish Agrophysical Society, since 1986 for three terms of office a member of the Committee of Evolutionary and Theoretical Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), since 1996 a member of the Forecast Committee “Poland of the 21st Century” at PAN, and since 1997 a member of the Scientific Committee “Man and Environment” to the Presidium of PAN and the Programme Council of the International Ecological Centre “Karpaty Wschodnie” [Eastern Carpathians].
In 1992 he was an advisor to the Minister of Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry as well as a member of the Environmental Protection Council. In years 1993-1995 he was a member of the Environmental Council to Lech Wałęsa, President of the Republic of Poland. In 1999 he was appointed a member of the Environmental Protection Council for Lublin Voivodeship. In 2000 he was one of the executers of the research programme at the Institute of Forestry.
Since 2000 he has been the President of the Development Foundation of KUL; since 2005 a member of the Supervisory Board of the Provincial Environmental Protection and Water Management Fund in Lublin as a representative of ecological organisations.
Vice-Rector for Didactics and Education - Prof. Józef Franciszek Fert

Born on 7 July 1945; 19th c. Polish Literature Historian, Head of the Department of Editing and Textual Criticism, the member of the editorial staff of the Cyprian Norwid and Józef Czechowicz’s publications of scientific papers, member of the editorial staff of “Studia Norwidiana”; in years 2003-2006 Head of Cyprian Norwid’s work Research Unit work Research Unit; in 1994-1999 Head of the Institute of Polish Studies; in 1999-2002 Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at KUL. On 21 February 2005 by virtue of the President of Poland’s resolution, he received the title of the professor of humanities.
Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations Rev. Sławomir Nowosad, Hab. PhD, Professor of KUL.

Born on 16 December 1960 in Zamość; a priest of the Diocese of Zamość and Lubaczów. In years 1979-1984 he attended the Higher Seminary in Lublin as well as he graduated from philosophical and theological studies at the Faculty of Theology at KUL. In 1984 he received the M.A. degree in theology and took priestly orders in the Cathedral of Zamość. Between 1984-1985 he worked as a pastor in Milejów and subsequently in years 1985-1988 in Lublin in the Parish of St Nicholas.
In 1988-1992 he attended specialised studies in moral theology at KUL, which resulted in the fact that he received doctor’s degree on 18 December 1992 on the basis of his dissertation “Nauka o sumieniu we współczesnej teologii moralnej anglikańskiej” [Study in Conscience in Anglican Modern Moral Theology]. On 5 June 2001 he received the habilitation degree on the basis of scientific attainments and of the dissertation “Odnowa anglikańskiej teologii moralnej w XX wieku" [ Rebirth of Anglican Moral Theology in the 20th Century]. On 15 February 2003 he was awarded with the title of associate professor.
Between 1990-1992 he performed the function of Prefect in the Higher Seminary of Lublin Diocese, and subsequently in years 1992-1997 the function of the Prefect and Vice-Rector of Higher Seminary in the Diocese of Zamość and Lubaczów. Between 1990-1993 he was an English teacher in the Higher Seminary of Lublin Diocese.
In 1993-1995 he was an assistant lecturer at the Department of Moral Theology History at KUL and from 1995 till 2003 an assistant professor at the Department of General Moral Theology. Subsequently between 2002-2005 he held the position of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Theology. Since 1 October 2002 he has been Head of the Department of Ecumenical Moral Theology.
The main areas of his research and interest include: the ecumenical dimension of Christian morality, Anglican moral theology as well as Protestant moral traditions and moral aspects of demography.
