Uniwersity court-yardMore than 16 thousand young people study at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.  For those beginning their adventure with studies, the University offers bachelor’s and master’s degree studies. Students gain knowledge about God, man and the world at approximately 50 majors and specialisations. Most of them possess the certificate of education quality issued by the University Accreditation Commission. In the face of rapidly changing social and economic situation, in order to prepare young people for full and responsible work for the good of the Fatherland and the Church, KUL is expanding its teaching offer onto other majors, some of which are a part of the rich tradition of research conducted at the University; others become a part of new research issues undertaken at the University. For the best students in a given field, the Catholic university has to offer doctoral programmes which prepare young scientists to conduct research and to write dissertations. Adjusting to the challenges and social needs, the university also organises new postgraduate programmes and development courses which prepare specialists competent in the issue of cooperation with the European Union and widely- understood educational issues as well as issues dynamically growing in popularity and connected with the development of information society.

The University also educates foreigners, offering them degree programs in English. Thinking about foreign students, the School of Polish Language and Culture prepares an offer of courses in the Polish language every year. During these courses, students not only learn the Polish language, but they also have a unique opportunity to meet with the Polish culture and political life. Each year approximately 200 people, mainly from the USA and Western Europe, participate in summer programmes and year-round courses at the School. People from prestigious American and European academic circles are also its participants. Course participants often return to Lublin and to the University in the subsequent years, developing professional, scientific and social contacts.
