Student Literary Competition sponsored by the Institute of English Studies KUL is meant to encourage excellence in writing in English.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to all undergraduate students (BA studies) and graduate students (MA studies) registered during the 2014-2015 academic year in the Institute of English Studies.

 

Description:

You may submit your work within one of the general categories: short fiction, non-fiction and poetry, as well as song lyrics. You may enter one work in each category.

There is no themed category for submissions.

The text must be in English.

Each entry must reflect the contestant's own work and original writing.

 

Guidelines:

Entries must be unpublished. Manuscripts must be typed and printed out.

To ensure peer review of your work, your name must not appear anywhere on the document; however, the title of the work must appear on each page of the manuscript. Along with the text you should enclose a separate cover sheet with your name and email address.

 

Deadlines and Judging:

You may submit your entry to the secretary of the Institute of English Studies, room C-942.

The deadline is April 20th, 2015.

 

The jury consists of Competition Coordinator, dr. Urszula Niewiadomska-Flis, and dr. Patrycja Antoszek, Jury member.

 

Recognition of winners:

Winners will be notified by email. Winning entries will be nominated for the Chancellor’s award and will also receive a prize (in form of a book) from the Institute of English Studies.
