Cyklicznie powracające do głównego nurtu teologicznych rozważań zagadnienie relacji Kościoła powszechnego i Kościołów lokalnych pozostaje wciąż otwarte na nowe pytania i problemy badawcze. Ostatnie lata przyniosły mu na nowo rozgłos za sprawą debaty kardynałów Josepha Ratzingera i Waltera Kaspera, których poróżniło spojrzenie na ontologiczne i czasowe pierwszeństwo Kościoła powszechnego przed Kościołami lokalnymi. Punktem wspólnym ich rozważań stało się communio – pojęcie uznawane za klucz do zrozumienia soborowej eklezjologii. Stąd zasadna wydaje się analiza adekwatności użycia tego pojęcia dla określenia relacji między Kościołem powszechnym a lokalnym głównie na podstawie tekstów Magisterium Kościoła, ale także współczesnych artykułów naukowych.

ECCLESIOLOGY OF COMMUNION AS THE KEY TO UNDERSTANDING  THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE UNIVERSAL AND LOCAL CHURCH

Periodically returning to the mainstream of theological considerations, the issue of the relationship between the universal Church and the local churches remains open to new questions and research problems. Recent years brought him new renown thanks to the debate of cardinals – Joseph Ratzinger and Walter Kasper, who diffused their view of the ontological and temporal priority of the universal Church in front of the local Churches. The common point of their deliberations became communio – a concept considered to be the key to understanding the ecclesiological council. Therefore, it seems reasonable to analyze the adequacy of the use of this concept to determine the relationship between the universal and local Church, mainly based on the texts of the Church’s Magisterium, but also modern scientific articles.
