International Relations Office and KUL Center for the Study of Diplomacy invites students and doctoral students of KUL to apply for a prestigious internship at the Vatican Diplomatic Mission.

The scholarship program at the Mission is aimed at:

  • students in their final year of graduate studies,
  • students who are ready to take a dean's leave in order to complete their internship
  • doctoral students

interested in issues of international relations, national security and diplomacy.


The initiative is supported by the Society of Friends of the Catholic University of Lublin.

 

 

Traineeship start date: September 1, 2024

Duration: from 5 to 11 months

Working language: English


Trainee responsibilities:

  • work 5 days a week from 9 am to 6 pm
  • support in the daily administrative work of the office
  • Analysis, synthesis and management of information from various sources for the Mission
  • handling external and internal correspondence on behalf of the Mission
  • assisting in the organization of meetings, seminars, conferences
  • participation in delegations on Mission matters to other units

 

The Mission provides Scholars with:

  • job training

  • at the end of the internship, references and a letter of recommendation

 

Requirements:

  • status as a student or doctoral student of KUL
  • excellent English skills, spoken and written (knowledge of German will be an asset)
  • being a practicing Catholic and knowledge of and respect for the structures of the Catholic Church is a must
  • ability to think analytically, handle tasks under time pressure, punctuality and conscientiousness
  • high personal culture

Individuals who have traveled for Erasmus+ studies and/or internships during the current study cycle may apply for the Internship, provided that their stay abroad including the Internship does not exceed the mobility capital: 12 months or 24 months in the case of single master's studies.

 

APPLICATION:

  1. CV in Polish and English - in European format and with a  photo;
  2. cover letter in English, including the following information: interests in and outside the field of study, university and non-university activities, expected graduation date, motivation for applying for the internship;
  3. document confirming knowledge of English, (e.g. certificate, certificate of completed course at SJO KUL);
  4. optional: document confirming knowledge of German (taken into account for candidates with similar qualifications);
  5. other documentation that may be taken into account in the selection process.
