This is the first time an Erasmus+ cooperation is going on between these two universities. It brought the exchange of good practices between a program and a partner country in the context of the strategies of the Erasmus+ program. It really provides with expert guidance on discussing with professional academics and viewing effective collaboration highly necessary on this field.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

The application of this programme is essential to achieve effective and measurable results that can directly contribute to new standards of teaching and research activities.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

I decided to participate in this Erasmus opportunity because I wanted to experience teaching in a different educational environment and culture. I have done Erasmus in the past and it was extremely rewarding and educational. I believe this program helps professors and students experience new ways of teaching and learning. It helps me as an educator learn how to adapt my teaching style and delivery to different international audiences. It also allows me to confirm the positive practices I use while teaching and reflect on any that may need to be improved upon.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

This exchange allowed me to meet different groups of young people, spend quality time with them and get to know their habits, lifestyles, and attitudes towards major issues in international relations. I also was afforded the chance to  meet and coalesce with other faculty members in similar disciplines such as myself to exchange ideas, opinions, and possibly develop new research opportunities. I also got a wonderful chance to learn and experience  Polish  history, culture, food, and language.I also got to a chance to explore the fascinating  roots of Karol Wojtyla who taught at the Catholic University of Lublin before becoming Pope John Paul II.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

I would definitely recommend Erasmus to others. The  sole reason is because it’s a life changing opportunity. It’s an amazing opportunity to be immersed in another culture and educational setting. During this Erasmus I learned so much about the history of the Catholic University of Lublin and the historical importance it plays in Poland. I also had time to travel to two other cities in and experience local traditions as well.  Erasmus also presents academics with the opportunity to meet like minded academics and researchers  who one can  potentially collaborate with  on future projects, papers, or conferences.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

I participated in Erasmus+ programme because this is only opportunity for me to collaborate with foreign (European/American) colleagues and being in touch with foreign students. This funding entity covered travel costs 275 euros and paid me daily 140 euros for whole stay in the city of Poland Lublin during 7 days (1255,00 euros in total). Professor from the developing country can’t cover all this costs and thus, is deprived of such opportunity in my home country if Erasmus+ doesn’t offer its assistance.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

This mobility for teaching staff allowed me to interrelate with foreign students and discussing with them separate issues of international law and international relations which damage Georgia and other countries similarly. I received a lot of questions in this direction and hope I answered them as comprehensive as it was possible. Contact with Polish and American colleagues showed that, they are glad and they are happy to collaborate with me if I have a desire. I analyzed on which issues we have similar positions and on which our positions are distinct, as well as we can make distinct conclusions, but both of them will be useful and necessary in practice.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

I recommend this to all others, which just like me, because of being the citizen of developing country have limited opportunities for better future perspectives. The world of globalization demands from us relations with more broader societies for the well being of present and future generations as the principle of sustainable development prescribes in environmental law. Designation of this principle is to preserve planet earth, to protect it from unpleasant outcomes. We all my foreign colleagues and students, as well as me need such relations because we similarly wear responsibility for the flourishing planet earth.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

Gathering personal and cross cultural experiences that may enrich my teaching, encourage collaborative projects between my College and KUL.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

First the entire experience was well organized, exceptionally coordinated. I was treated kindly and hosted in a very gracious manner by faculty and academic leaders as well as the Erasmus+ office.

I enjoyed teaching very much and was surprised at the numerous similarities in the issues and challenges Poland and Israel face.

What I consider to be the most important outcome of this and previous visits is the establishment of ongoing collaborative efforts in research, academic publication, etc. These collaborations have already resulted in publications by Gordon college faculty members in a KUL scientific journal, and vice versa (KUL faculty publishing in Gordon’s Journal). Now we move to the next stage – collaborative publications by KUL and Gordon faculty members.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

Firstly because it is an experience that goes beyond mere professional development – it results in cultural and interpersonal exchange that can enrich one’s work and personal views. Secondly because it is a great opportunity to start collaborations and on-going mutual projects that may benefit all parties involved.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

I think this is a good experience for both scholars and instructors to meet new colleagues of parallel position and similar field, and to learn on the diverse programs of the hosting institute. It is an opportunity to discuss professional matters, learn from collegues, and make new connections. In addition, it has been a good experience to know your students and share my knowledge with them.

4. Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

I enjoyed giving the lectures. I think it was a great framework for sharing my ideas with the students. I feel it was relevant for them and helped them in their studies. The scheduling was great - it was clear and helpful, the planned activities were diversified and the warm hospitality was well felt during my visit at KUL. The dialogue with the faculty members was pleasant and fruitful – hearing ideas and discussing future collaboration.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

Visiting KUL is an opportunity to exchange ideas, meet new colleagues, and establish academic / research connections. Also teaching your students is important for advancing teaching strategies and practices.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

I supposed that Erasmus+ programme can provide a good possibility to know more about curricula and system of learning by means of both direct contacts with pedagogical staff and teaching experience. It is also the possibility to meet some new ideas in teaching and to establish contacts for further research.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

Indeed, it was a fine and unique experience “to feel” the similarity and differences in teaching and learning styles. It provides new contacts and coordination, it allows free exchange of ideas in a wide range of teaching and research problems. I do like the possibility to discuss the possibilities of collaboration in learning, cooperative curricula developing and so on. I do believe that I also was successful with my learning and the students did learn some new ideas.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

It is a great possibility to obtain new inputs both for improving teaching strategies and practices, and for establishing frameworks for the research collaboration with colleagues.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

Our University has been working with Erasmus+ programme in collaboration with the Catholic University of Lublin. Also, it was a good exchange of scholarship as well as benchmarking with other world class universities. It is also in the spirit of globalization and exchange of knowledge for development, leadership and democracy.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

The mobility expanded my scope of knowledge and understanding the value of university education as a universal attribute. The exchange of ideas on research, methodologies of learning and dissemination of knowledge was very good. The use of technology in learning as well as various perspectives of culture and human development. I have learned to think global and appreciate partnerships with Poland and other European Union Countries. I have also learned about interdisciplinary collaboration.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

Yes, I would recommend the Erasmus+ Program to others and even take part in another opportunity because of its richness of a global view and partnership in education, research and dissemination of knowledge. The good and cordial reception I received also is a great experience of the European hospitality and openness to support, provide benchmarking and other learning experiences with the world. Kenya being a third world is benefiting much from this program through the innovations learned from the exchange program.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

The Staff Mobility not only built upon the cooperation both institutions began to construct last year. This year the program reached a higher level of cooperation with the finalization of a memorandum of understanding. Likewise, this year I felt that the students in KUL have been more actively responsive and participative, understanding the lessons I have prepared in a way that was very palpable.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

In a world that has become globalized, the Erasmus+ program is an extremely necessary program so that educators from various cultural realities could come together not only to exchange knowledge but also for their horizons to meet. We need such programs to break down the growing alterity of North and South hemispheres and the building of a sense of a world more interconnected than at any other point in human history.

3. Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

Erasmus + is a programme that offers great opportunities to us in terms of sharing best practices with peers and create new or reinforce professional links. I always aim at expanding my teaching experience, implement innovative methods in an international environment, learn from good practice abroad and get to understand European countries’ culture and educational system. And Erasmus + programme is a good framework for both personal and professional development.

It was a great experience to interact with students in a Polish classroom environment, share my own teaching experience, knowledge and skills, and get feedback from them in terms of both content and teaching methods. Mobility has contributed to improving my professional competences and quality of work. I’ve learned many things at KUL and will implement some in my classroom. Together with colleagues from KUL, we have reinforced cooperation between two universities and staff, and projected future common activities in the field of education and research.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

The Erasmus + Teaching Staff Mobility programme offers a great opportunity to build up new professional contacts, consolidate existent connections and extend cooperation; to share own knowledge and skills with students and teaching/research staff, and get feedback from them in terms of both content and teaching methods; to develop own knowledge and understanding of culture and society of the host university’s country.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

Having classes at the Catholic University of Lublin was one of the best experiences for me. Although I came as a teacher, I actually learned a lot myself. Teaching mobility is a great opportunity for both – sharing ones own knowledge of lecturing and developing different new learning methods. I greatly enjoyed the form and structure of classes, the level of awareness and the activity of students. Also I had a chance to build up new professional contacts and simply spend quality time in a very friendly and good-natured environment.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

I would highly recommend Erasmus+ programme for everyone who wants to improve personal and professional skills, appreciates fresh experiment and likes to travel.

3.Why did you decide to apply in the Erasmus+ programme?

To learn more about the study of English in Poland, network with scholars at the host institution in our shared field of English language teaching, and bring newly gained insights and perspectives back to the courses I teach at my home university.

4.Your personal experience/what did you like about your mobility/what did you gain thanks to it?

My experience at KUL was positive and rewarding. I particularly enjoyed interacting with the students, faculty, and staff at KUL around issues in English language teaching. Specifically, we compared and contrasted issues and techniques of teaching English vocabulary in the United States with those here in Poland. As a result, I gained new insights around the successes and challenges Polish learners of English experience when acquiring new vocabulary items, which will greatly supplement the content of my courses back home in the States. Students at KUL also seemed excited to experience examples of American English curriculum materials and how to use these materials for teaching vocabulary in their own future English classrooms.

5. Why would you recommend it to others?

I would absolutely recommend the Erasmus+ Programme at KUL to others. It is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with new colleagues and gain new perspectives on shared aspects of our work. I am very grateful to the staff at KUL who worked to make my mobility comfortable and organized and also to the faculty who welcomed me into their classrooms.
