Who is a Guardian Angel?
It is a person who is ready to help foreign students studying at KUL to adapt. They come to a country where they do not know anyone. They need a person who will pick them up from the train station, help them buy their monthly ticket, show them around the city and the university, and provide advice and assistance in what is a completely new environment for them.
Guardian Angels cooperate with International Relations Office (Konwikt, room no. 78)
What should a Guardian Angel be like?
- available, especially at the beginning of the semester, as foreign students usually arrive at the end of September (holidays and revision session) and in February (winter holidays and examination session) - the Guardian's presence is essential then
- always ready to help the foreign student
- responsible
- reliable
- speaks at least one foreign language at a communicative level.
What do you gain from being a Guardian Angel of a foreign student?
- your role will be taken into account when applying for a scholarship for study or placement as part of exchange programmes
- entry in the supplement to your diploma
- certificate that confirms being a GA
- participation in meetings, events and excursions organised for foreign students
- opportunity to practice foreign language skills
- opportunity to learn about other cultures
