29th annual conference of The Polish Association for the Study of English

the Second 2021 circular

pase_2021_2nd_circular pdf

Since the epidemic situation in our country remains uncertain, we have decided to organize the 2021 PASE Conference online. The conference will take place on 24-26 June 2021 on MS Teams Platform. We would kindly ask all participants to confirm their participation in the conference by 20 March 2021.  pase2021@kul.lublin.pl is the conference email address.

We are happy to announce that since the conference is non-stationary, participation is now free of charge. For that reason we will no longer ask you to fill in the conference registration form. We would kindly ask anyone who would like to receive a document confirming their participation/delivery of a paper to send us a relevant note in the email confirming their participation in the conference. Please make a relevant note also if you do not wish to act as a chairperson during any of the conference sessions.

We are also happy to announce that our keynote speakers continue to include:

Prof. Fátima Vieira, University of Porto

Prof. John Harris, University College London

Prof. Steve Tomasula, University of Notre Dame

Prof. Ewa Kujawska-Lis, University of Warmia and Mazury

By the end of April on our conference website − www.kul.pl/pase2021 − you will find brief presentations of our plenary lectures together with the bios of the keynote speakers. Also on our website, before the conference, you will find the conference program and a PDF booklet with abstracts of all papers.

MS Teams is a user-friendly platform, but it runs most smoothly if downloaded on the user’s desktop (rather than accessed through a browser). We therefore recommend that you download the application if you have not downloaded it already. MS Teams can be downloaded for free here: https://www.microsoft.com/pl-pl/microsoft-teams/download-app  Downloading the application should prevent any screen sharing issues. If, to be on the safe side, you would like the host of your session to have a copy of your presentation, please send us a PDF version of your presentation by 15 June 2021.

Preparing your presentation, please note that it should not exceed 20 minutes to allow for a 10-minute discussion.

Should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to write to us!

We look forward to welcoming you all to Lublin via MS Teams!

The Institute of Literary Studies and Institute of Linguistics at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and the Polish Association for the Study of English have the honour to invite all scholars working within the area of English studies to the 29th annual conference of The Polish Association for the Study of English, which has been moved from 2020 to 2021 because of the pandemic and which will take place in Lublin on 24-26 June 2021.

All participants whose submissions have already been accepted do not need to re-submit them. If you wish to modify your abstract or change the topic of your presentation, please feel free to do so and in that case please send the new abstract to the conference current email address.

We also invite new participants to join us.

Important dates

Deadline for receipt of new proposals (and modifications): 30th January 2021

Notification of acceptance: 15th February 2021

We hope PASE 2021 will be a stationary conference, but the situation is uncertain and we may be forced to organize our conference online. In any case, we are determined to hold the conference in 2021 and we will inform you about the form in early spring. If the conference is stationary, the fees will remain the same.

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the uncertain situation caused by Covid 19, we have decided to
postpone the PASE conference till next year. The new tentative date is
24-26 June 2021. Please, let us know if you wish to modify your
abstract. Also, if you would like to change the topic of your
presentation, send the new abstract to the conference email address.

The fees remain the same. If you have already transferred the money, we
will contact you personally in a short time.

We realize that the new schedule might coincide with your future plans;
therefore, we’d like to ask you to notify us if you are not able to
attend the conference in 2021.

An updated CFP will be uploaded to the conference website in autumn. We
would be grateful if you could circulate it among your colleagues.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Lublin in June 2021!
