Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition ICCC 2024
The 2024 Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition ICCC 2024 which will be held in Lublin, Poland. This year's international rounds will be hosted by the Catholic University of Lublin from April 10th to April 13th, 2024. Organising partners include the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration, the Center for Advancing Legal Skills, the Legal Clinic of Catholic University and the Rule of Law Institute Foundation. We are co-hosting with our colleagues from Ukraine including the Ukrainian Legal Clinics Association.
In the international competition, participants conduct simulated consultations with clients in a mock law office environment. Working in teams of two, law students or recently licensed lawyers interact with actors portraying clients facing legal issues. They have the freedom to choose the jurisdiction for the consultation, often selecting their home country. Their primary objective is to effectively communicate with the client, build rapport, and gather thorough information before providing legal guidance. Evaluation standards highlight the significance of helping the client grasp their circumstances and available options, empowering them to make well-informed choices. Negotiating difficult situations and navigating ethical challenges is a routine aspect of this competitive arena.
