The NAWA SUMMER COURSES organised by our School this year last for 4 weeks (7 July-3 August 2025) and include approximately 100 hours of language programme, a tourist programme and cultural activities.
The language programme (semi-intensive, 25 hours* per week) includes:
- Polish language lessons - 20 hours per week; (*1 lesson hour = 45 minutes); Participants will be divided into groups on the basis of a placement test to be held on the first day of the course.
- lectures (on Polish culture, literature, music and economics as well as Polish history and important contemporary issues) - 4 hours per week;
- seminars related to the topics of the lectures, deepening the knowledge given during the lectures- - 1 hour per week.
The cultural programme includes:
- folklore workshops in groups (e.g. dance workshops - learning regional dances and chants) organised systematically once a week;
- Polish film screenings (1 film per week);
- cultural outings (to concerts, exhibitions - at least once a week, depending on current cultural events available);
- integration events with elements of the cultural programme (e.g. an evening of presentation of the participants' countries, the “Chrząszcz from Szczebrzeszyn” Polish pronunciation competition).
The tourist programme includes:
- one-day coach excursions (1 excursion per week) to attractive, historical cities, e.g. Warsaw, Sandomierz, Kozłówka, Zamość (but the exact place of the excursions as well as their dates are given before the start of the courses on the School's website);
- guided tours in the area of Lublin - to the Museum of the Lublin Village, Museum at Majdanek;
- visits to attractive places from the point of view of Polish culture such as the Chatka Żaka Academic Centre of Culture and Media of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
Course participants are obliged to attend classes regularly, 10% of absences from classes are allowed.

The language programme, cultural and turist activities, accommodation and meals are free of charge. Participants cover the cost of travel and the cost of compulsory medical insurance. Detailed regulations for our School's NAWA Summer Courses can be found here.

The course is open to students and doctoral students of foreign universities, academic teachers of foreign universities who are foreigners or have dual citizenship (Polish and citizenship of another country), for whom Polish is not their first language, who do not study, are not employed and do not live in Poland and who speak Polish or English at a level of at least B1. This means that people who are just beginning to learn Polish can also take part in the course.
