2. Main problems of the subject area
Literature and theatre education is at the present day an important aspect of the profile of a pedagogy graduate. It allows them to be accustomed both with the field of Polish and foreign fiction, drama and poetry and with historical and contemporary theatre issues. It enables also to pinpoint educational, formative and social problems in literature and theatre.
Scientific and research activity of the Chair of Literature and Theatre Education belongs to two humanistic disciplines: theory of literature and science of theatrical matters. Such a scope of research is possible because of the scientific competencies and scientific degrees of both the chairperson and the staff members.
Topics of the scientific research of the chairperson should be placed in the contemporary trends of research on literature and theatre. It creates a significant part of national and international research on the history of theatre in Poland and abroad. It is a continuation of so called Lublin's school of the science of theatre matters that was created in the second half of the 20th century at KUL by professor Irena Sławińska.
3. Present research
