About the Department

The Department of English Literature and Culture is an autonomous section of the Institute of Literary Studies of the Faculty of Humanities at The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. The faculty of our Department conduct classes on a wide variety of subjects concerning British culture and media as well as theory and history of English literature. The dominant areas of research include visual and material history of Great Britain, British media studies, contemporary Anglophone novel, utopian studies, genology, film narratives, cognitive literary studies, narratology, intermediality, art in literature, English-language drama and theatre in the second half of the 20th century, drama/theatre translation, metaphysical poetry, modernism in poetry and art
