CURRICULUM VITAE
A graduate of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (1997), where he also obtained the degree of Doctor of Juridical Science (2000) and then Habilitated Doctor of Juridical Science (2009); since 2010, he has been employed as associate professor.
Representative of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration for Organisation of the University Legal Clinic and co-ordinator of the Civil Section of the University Legal Clinic at the Catholic University of Lublin (2001–2002); Curator of the Law Students’ Academic Club at the Catholic University of Lublin (2001–2012); Head of the Department of Commercial Law of the Catholic University of Lublin (since 2009); Curator of the 2nd Department of Civil Law (2010–2011); Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration for Science (2012–2018); Dean of the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration (since 2018).
An expert in the Office of the Constitutional Tribunal (2002–2009), an expert in legislation in the Bureau of Research of the Chancellery of the Sejm (2009–2014), a member of the expert team for the use of new technologies in commercial law under the auspices of the Corporate Governance Commission (since 2020), a practicing legal adviser, the author of numerous expert opinions and legal opinions prepared at the request of financial institutions, leading Polish law offices and public authorities.
He specialises in civil and commercial law. He is the author or co-author of over 60 publications in the field of civil, commercial and constitutional law, including the commentary to the Code of Commercial Companies (S. Sołtysiński, A. Szajkowski, A. Szumański, J. Szwaja) and a member of the authors’ team of System Prawa Prywatnego [Private Law System]. He teaches at seminars, gives presentations at conferences and conducts training courses in the field of civil and commercial law held by legal and business circles.

An associate member (since 2004) and then corresponding member (since 2010) of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the Learned Society of the Catholic University of Lublin; a member of the Legal Commission of the Lublin Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences (since 2011); a member of the Society of European Contract Law – SECOLA (since 2013); a member of the Scientific Board of the Scientific & Training Centre of the National Council of Judicial Officers (since 2013); a member of the Editorial Board (Deputy Editor-in-Chief) of Studia Prawnicze KUL; Editor-in-Chief of LawBlog.pl Forum Prawa Handlowego; Editor-in-Chief of Review of European and Comparative Law (since 2017).
