XL Dni Praw Człowieka: Kompletne i ułomne prawa człowieka. Wokół koncepcji Adama Podgóreckiego w 25 rocznicę śmierci

 

13-14 grudnia Katedra Praw Człowieka i Pracy Socjalnej Instytutu Nauk Socjologicznych KUL, we współpracy z Oddziałem Lubelskim PTS, organizuje jubileuszowe XL Dni Praw Człowieka: Kompletne i ułomne prawa człowieka. Wokół koncepcji Adama Podgóreckiego w 25 rocznicę śmierci (hybrydowo: online i stacjonarnie, i dwujęzycznie: w języku polskim i angielskim). 

 

W ujęciu A. Podgóreckiego „w rzeczywistości społecznej, prawa człowieka z zasady są abstrakcyjne w tym sensie, że są werbalizowane, lecz niekoniecznie przestrzegane. Abstrakcyjne prawa człowieka stają się ułomnymi, gdy nie istnieją realistyczne warunki ich  funkcjonowania […] Aby prawa człowieka były kompletne, niezbędne są normatywne zapisy i odpowiadające im postawy wynikające z prawa intuicyjnego oraz instytucjonalne i organizacyjne powiązania między nimi” (Socjologiczna teoria prawa, Warszawa 1998, s. 102, 103).

 

Serdecznie zapraszamy na konferencję i do zgłaszania propozycji referatów (ok. 20 min.) w języku polskim i angielskim na temat praw człowieka w kontekście tytułowego rozróżnienia i/lub dorobku naukowego A. Podgóreckiego, w szczególności z zakresu socjologii prawa czy socjologii praw człowieka (zgłoszenia do 28 listopada).

 

Przynajmniej jedna sesja odbędzie się w języku angielskim z udziałem prelegentów zagranicznych. Teksty z akcentem socjologicznym chcielibyśmy opublikować w Zeszytach Naukowych KUL 61, 2024, nr 2 (termin ich złożenia - ok. połowy marca).

40th Human Rights Days
Complete and crippled human rights: On the concepts of Adam Podgórecki on the 25th anniversary of his death.

 

On December 13-14 2023 Department of Human Rights and Social Work, Institute of Siociological Stiudies, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, and the Lublin Branch of the Polish Sociological Association organizes 40th Human Rights Days held (online or in a hybrid manner). This year the conference is titled „Complete and crippled human rights: On the concepts of Adam Podgórecki on the 25th anniversary of his death”. 

 

According to A. Podgórecki: „In order to establish the basis for an adequate sociology of human rights, one must first elaborate two introductory concepts. The first concept is intuitive law. […] The second concept  is of classificatory nature. It distinguishes: a) crippled and b)complete human rights. In social reality, as a rule, human rights are mainly abstract, meanning that they are pronounced, but not necessarily practiced.  Abstract rights become crippled when they do not provide realistic conditions for their own operation. […] For human rights to be complete, it is crucial not only that written prescripts be in congruence with the respective attitudes of intuitive law, but also that institutional and/or organizational links exist between these two elements” (A Sociological Theory of Law, Milano 1991, 101-103, see attachment).

 

We invite academics, lawyers and sociologist, Ph.D. students,  civil society representatives and practicioners to  submit a paper  in POlish or English  (by 28th November) and to take part in the conference. Papers will be welcomed on human rights, especially the sociology of these rights, analysed from the perspective of Podgórecki’s  distinction, as well as the ones discussing relevant elements of his work.

 

We would like to publish papers with a sociological accent in Zeszyty Naukowe KUL 61, 2024, No. 2 (deadline for submission - mid-March).
