Niemiecki Dogmatyk, prof. dr. Erich Naab, z Katolickiego Uniwersytetu w Eichstätt, uczeń prof. dr. Michaela Seybolda (+2005), przedstawia tekst Żydzi i chrześcijanie w przymierzu i w sporze.

E. Naab, JEWS AND CHRISTIANS IN COVENANT AND DISPUTE. HISTORICAL AND THEOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT

Summary

A German dogmatist, Prof Erich Naab, from the Catholic University of Eichstätt, a student of Prof Michael Seybold (d. 2005) presents a paper entitled “Jews and Christians in Covenant and Dispute.” He sets out from the history of theology and the conciliar declaration Nostra aetate, yet he mainly wishes to underline the theological development of relations between Jews and Christians. He presents three different phases of this development on the plane of understanding the salvation: in antiquity (Marcion), in Middle Ages (Anselm) and in the present of the Church, when the thought of non-Christian, such as Buber and Levinas, is also taken in account. The author also gives an answer to the question whether a spiritual covenant that connects Jews and Christians is possible. He opines that the original covenant between Yahweh and the Chosen People and the new covenant which occurred in Christ are connected by the Lord of Covenant – the Only God, who is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and the Father of Jesus Christ, who is the Saint of His People (cf. Hosea 11:9). Moreover, Jews and Christians are connected by the common goal, which is the fulfillment of salvation in God who wants the communion with all people.
