Research Center for European Migration Law and Policy is run at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin at the Institute of European Studies.

The Center has an interdisciplinary character. The mission of the Research Center for European Law and Migration Policy is to conduct research devoted to European migration law and commonly understood migration policy. Particular attention in the works of the group focuses on the issue of the protection of migrants’ rights, so that the activities and results of the group would contribute to a  postulate from a message of the Holy Father John Paul II for the 90th World Day of Migrants and Refugees from 2004 entitled “Migration with a view to peace”.

The Center cooperate closely with the Rule of Law Institute Foundation within the framework of its Migration Program and Think – Tank, particularly within the activities of research group MIGRA – TEAM, uniting researchers of migration law coming from various universities and Polish research institutions. The group constitutes a forum of knowledge exchange and the presentation of outcomes of scientific research from the area of migration law, which supports strengthening of Center’s activities and creates contact source for the functioning of the Center.

Moreover, the Center publishes joint scientific series Migration Law and Policy Studies in cooperation with the Rule of Law Institute Foundation.
